Letter Dated 12/19/05 Hi Devona,
Hope all is well. I heard on the news there was an ice storm in
NC and many people were without power for a while. Did that affect
you?
We are so happy with the pup. His name is Simba. It took us 4
days to name him. He's still not eating a whole lot, but is getting
there. I bought the Nutracal and have been giving him some in the
mornings. He's been doing all his necessities outside so far. We
take him out every couple of hours and he's getting the hang of it.
My twin nieces were scared of him at first, but they got over it.
This is the first dog they ever held (and kissed) :)
Stay in touch!
Liz Letter Dated 1/4/06 Hi Devona,
Happy new year!! I see you have your hands full! I can't believe all
three litters came within days of each other. I see Kenner & Teddy Bear
only have 2 pups. Is that all she had? They are all so cute! Wish I
could get another one. Hopefully in the near future. As for Simba, I
can't believe that he is almost trained and he's not even 3 months old
yet. He goes to the door and scratches on it or whines when he wants to
use the bathroom or play outside. I'm still using the crate for when
we're not home. He's also already learned to fetch. I started him off by
giving him treats (Innova - Evo) when he brings me back the ball. In the
last couple of days, he finally figured it out. Now he backs up as I'm
about to the throw the ball, and then he runs a zillion miles per hour
to get it and brings it back. I purchased the tiny tennis balls because
he could barely carry the standard ones. We're having a lot of fun with
him!
I'll be taking him to the vet this week, for his next shot. I'm also
shopping around for dog insurance. I think I'm going with VIP. Have you
heard of them before?
Hope all is well!

He is doing GREAT! Sorry I couldn't email more last night--my
blackberry went dead. He is absolutely adorable and getting along
wonderfully with Skyler!!!!! My husband and son adore him!!!!! You
have the most beautifully calm puppies--it's just amazing!!!!!! I am
running out for another camera to take some pics of the gang. When
we first picked him up, I swear he "meowed" instead of a little
bark. It was so funny. My son went with me to the airport; he was so
excited! He is as much and more than we had hoped!!!! THANK YOU!!! |

Black Tri Female "Destiny" Pictures 12/8/05 at

Letter Dated 12/16/05
Dear Devona,
Destiny arrived in Louisville a half an hour late. We did not
get her until 6 o’clock. She is so beautiful. She already has
Charlie smitten! She laid on my chest all the way home. We
have part of the kitchen blocked off as hers and we spent an 1 ½
playing on the floor with her. She didn’t eat the food in the
kennel so I fed her food and water. Charlie already is holding
her in his arms on the sofa, and doesn’t want to put her down.
She’s tired but there are too many things still to investigate.
He knows I don’t want her on our leather sofa, but he is already
breaking his own rules. Now I get to train both of them! She
is so precious, and a big hit here. Thanks so much!!!! All is
well here. Georgia
Letter Dated 1/5/06
Dear
Devona,
Destiny is doing great! I wanted to get some good pictures
of her to send to you. We took some at Christmas and then on
New Years Day before we took the tree down. The pictures
will be marked on the back when she was nine weeks and when
she was ten weeks. I will include the signed contract with
the pictures. We took your advice and wet the dog food and
she started eating more and usually doesn’t have a problem
with bowel movements now. She is about 8 inches tall and
weighs exactly 3 pounds at ll weeks. She eats about ½ to ¾
cups of dog food a day on a regular basis. She hates the
crate so we have confined her to a portion of the kitchen
with gates that is her own area, and so far she hasn’t
chewed anything. She has her own dog bed there. She doesn’t
like to sleep alone at night, so we have a red portable dog
carrier that she sleeps in our bedroom. When we first
brought her home, the top of her head didn’t even touch the
top of that red carrier and now her head and neck are above
the top opening. I have a picture of her resting her head on
the top of that carrier. She has been a big hit wherever we
have taken her. We even took her to church with us that
first weekend that we got her, and all the kids had to take
turns holding her after service. Even some of the adults did
too. Our grandkids loved her, especially my 11 year old
grandson. She was completely litter crate trained in less
than a week. The only problem that we are encountering now
is she has not associated the fact that is the only place
she is allowed to go. She understands the word “go potty”
and will go if she has to, when we ask her. Twice when I’ve
been in our office upstairs on the computer, she has
urinated, but never when I could catch her in the act and
take her to the litter box and give her the command “go
potty” there. Do you have any suggestions? When we are at
work, she uses the litter box all the time, and never has an
accident in the kitchen. At night, in her dog carrier,
because the top is zippered, she will whine for us to take
to the litter box. So how do we teach her that the litter
box is the only place she is allowed to go? We took her
privileges away, so now when she is in the office with us,
she has to stay in her dog carrier.
She has so many expressions with her ears! It’s a hoot.
When you sweet talk her, she will often times tilt her head,
which you will see in two of the pictures I am sending you.
If there is a loud noise her ears go straight up. Twice when
it has been warm here we have taken her outside. When she
runs, she pulls her ears back like a rabbit and takes off
running. On Christmas Day, after everyone went home, since
she was allowed in the living room, (only when someone was
holding her), she got loose and pulled her ears back and
tucked her bottom under, and she ran and even hopped around
the coffee table several times. Charlie has it on the video
camera.
Her favorite game she likes to play is with your
fingers. When you tap your fingers before her, she will
either prance or try to get them, or hunch over like a cat
and wait until she thinks she can get them and then pounce.
When she really gets excited at times, she pulls those ears
back, and then hops over to you. You never know what she’ll
do next!
I was teasing Charlie when she urinated twice in the
office that I was going to send her back to you. He told me,
how dare I bring her home and he fall in love with her and
then break his heart! The first week when I worked, he came
home on his lunch hour to feed her and spend time with her.
She was definitely daddy’s girl. I’ve been off the last 2
weeks so she could get adjusted and not be afraid in her new
surroundings. I will go back to work Monday. We take her
everywhere we can. If Charlie is driving and I have her in
the carrier in my lap, she doesn’t mind it. If I take her
with me and have to have the carrier on the passenger side,
then she starts shaking, until I start sweet talking her and
then she usually settles down. She has been a great joy in
our lives and we love her so much! She captured both our
hearts that Friday at the airport and it been great having
her here. Thanks once again for everything and also for
being involved in our lives since she has been here. It
means a lot to us that you care about Destiny and us and any
problems that we may be having and all the good times too!
I keep checking your web site and see that you now have
3 different litters! I like how you have included the
pictures of the moms with their litters, and that you have
included a picture of your home also. I think it all helps
people to connect with you and the pups. The pups are all so
cute! I hope that some of the Tricolor pups have blue eyes
for you. Have a Happy New Year. I will send the contract
and pictures out tomorrow. Georgia
